| Pastor Jonathan Mills and Family |
I
love being the senior pastor of this great church!
I have one beautiful wife, Kim. Together we have two wonderful
children, MacKenzie and Wesley and they keep us very busy!
I grew up in a pastor’s home and attended Southern
Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma. After college,
I participated in various churches and ministries in Los
Angeles, California; New York, New York; Danvers, Massachusetts;
and Nashua, New Hampshire. God called me to the ministry
after I worked in the secular world for a number of years
and I think that my experiences in the workplace are an
important asset to me as a pastor.
I have served as an interim pastor in Maynard and Wareham,
Massachusetts, and have pastored in Chestertown, Maryland.
I was called to Newark in August, 2005. I have also had the
opportunity to do ministry in the Dominican Republic, Bermuda,
and Hungary.
For some pastors it seems that pastoring is a vocation.
It's not a vocation for me. Preaching God’s word and leading
God’s people is a desire placed in my heart by God
himself. It is my desire to present God to people in a
joyful, excellent way through each service and every program
at Newark
Nazarene.
I love life, laughter, and participating in many activities – spending
time with my family, reading, writing, and playing golf.
I'll be very disappointed if there's no golfing in heaven.

all small group ministries and discipleship classes.
He preaches Sunday morning service when the Lead Pastor
is
traveling, as well as other times. He co-leads the
Worship Team with his wife Katy. Dean and Katy both
graduated from
Newark High School in 1989. These High School sweethearts
first met in Kindergarten! Newark Church of the Nazarene
is very special to him, it is the church where he was
dedicated, saved, and married. Pastor Dean is currently
in an ordination
course of study, and is scheduled to be ordained in
2009. He became a district licensed pastor in April
2006. Back to Top
